Currier & Ives Were Assholes

Currier & Ives were television before television. They were a print-making firm which sold mass-produced lithographs, serving to propagate the racism and cultural attitudes of the ruling class in a format that folks outside that class could afford. Selling art cheaply is good. Selling art cheaply to perpetuate existing divisions of race and class while feeding mass delusions in society is bad. Like with Doré, I reconfigure their art to bring honesty into the mix.
